Barry Uhl is a composer, illustrator, musician, writer, and crate-digging powerhouse. Born in Redding, California, his travels eventually led him to settle permanently in Seattle, Washington after stints in Aberdeen, Jackson Hole, and Moscow, Idaho.
His creative history includes a degree in Music Composition and Theory from the Lionel Hampton School of Music (University of Idaho), study with two-time Emmy award winner Hummie Mann at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program, several film scores, music released under his own moniker (Cloud War), and time spent as a member of Damien Jurado’s touring band.
His most recent release is a multi-media project encompassing a book, a series of illustrations, and an album: An Account Of The Happenings At Wretched Knob.
Uhl has collaborated and performed with Battle Hymns, Western States, Bryan John Appleby, Shelby Earl, and Andy Fitts; touring alongside the Heartless Bastards, Peter Wolf Crier, Tom Brosseau, Chad van Gaalen, Deertick, Cass McCombs, The Blakes, and Telekinesis; and has arranged for the Seattle Rock Orchestra and Allen Stone.
