Barry Uhl is a composer, illustrator, musician, and writer. Born in Redding, California, his travels eventually led him to settle permanently in Seattle, Washington after stints in Aberdeen, Jackson Hole, and Moscow, Idaho.
His creative history includes a degree in Music Composition and Theory from the Lionel Hampton School of Music (University of Idaho), study with two-time Emmy award winner Hummie Mann at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program, two self-released full-length records, several film scores, music released under his own moniker (Cloud War), and time spent as a member of Damien Jurado’s touring band.
Uhl has collaborated and performed with Seattle locals Shelby Earl, Bryan John Appleby, Battle Hymns, Western States, and Andy Fitts; touring alongside the Heartless Bastards, Peter Wolf Crier, Tom Brosseau, Chad van Gaalen, Deertick, Cass McCombs, The Blakes, and Telekinesis; arranged for the Seattle Rock Orchestra, and scored media for Seattle Girl's School, the Spark Museum (Bellingham), and numerous national clients.
An artist who is far beyond his time, who was discovered long ago by critics, fans, and fellow musicians. Welcome to the now. Sadly, you will always be too late.
