I choose Barry because he is more than just a composer; he is an excellent story-teller. He thinks visually, the same way I do, which allows us to communicate through images. His music doesn’t just sit in the background, supporting the film; his scores makes my work better because he cares more about the story than the music. He is patient, a great communicator and a talented musician and composer. He is always my first choice, and sometimes I wait to make sure he can score my film.
I love his music and what he does with my work, but more importantly, the experience of working with him makes the final product that much more satisfying.
